How old were you when you started and where did your idea come from?
I was 6 years old when I first had my business idea. My parents took me seriously at 8 years old and that is when Ava's Pet Palace was started. I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always known that I wanted to work with and for them!
What was the biggest mistake you made and what did you learn from it?
When I first started making treats, I tried a lot of different dog treat recipes and my dog didn't like any of them. I kept trying and trying... and trying until I found something that dogs loved! I didn't give up, even though I didn't have success immediately.
What are your future plans for the business?
One of my goals is to make Ava's Pet Palace a household name. I want to be known for my love for animals, my yummy treats and for being a great veterinarian. And of course, I plan to have a real life Ava's Pet Palace that will be a palace for animals!
Any advice for other girls starting a business?
If it's something you truly believe in, don't give up. Sometimes things will get hard, people may not take you seriously because you're young, but you have to keep pushing forward!
