How old were you when you started and where did your idea come from?
I was 9 years old when I started. I had a love for making my own bath products. A local crafter (who later became my mentor) took me under her wing and taught me to make soaps and bath bombs.
What was the biggest mistake you made and what did you learn from it?
When I first started I did not have the science down for making bath bombs. They would fall apart and crumble each time. I would get so frustrated. That taught me to research, practice, and ask more questions to perfect my craft. I almost felt like I wanted to give up, but I learned that a lot of time and research has to go into making things come together.
What are your future plans for the business?
I'm focusing more on collaborating and giving back to community organizations. We were able to donate proceeds to my favorite camp this year and I was very proud of that!
Any advice for other girls starting a business?
The advice I share with other girls starting a business is to first start with your village (the people who support you), secondly have a plan, and last have fun! There will be sacrifices you will have to make to run your business, but stay determined and remember its okay to take breaks and time out to enjoy girl time!
